Uddhav Thackeray takes jibe at PM Modi; says the PM should visit Manipur and not US.
Taking a jibe at Prime Minister Modi, Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray on Sunday slammed PM Modi and said the PM can go to the US but cannot visit the state of Manipur and control the ongoing situation over there.
Addressing party functionaries at Sena (UBT)’s statewide convention in Mumbai, Uddhav said: “I came to know that Prime Minister Modi is going to America, but he is not ready to go to Manipur. You are a Vishwaguru? You are going there to give sermons to a paid audience in America, but a state in my country is burning. You say that you went to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine. If you want to prove that these stories are true, then please calm down the people of Manipur and prove that the stories are true. First you just go to Manipur and see if the people of Manipur listen to you or not.”
“If you want to show your arrogance of power so much, then you should go to Manipur and show it there. Send your ED, CBI, Income Tax officers there in Manipur and see if they manage to come back from there. The people are out of control in Manipur,” he added.
The Shiv Sena president also slammed the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and said despite his visit to the Northeastern state, the state is still burning.
"Manipur is on fire. No one (there) cares about Amit Shah. What did Amit Shah do by going there?", he stated.
“Amit Shah came here and asked, what is my opinion about Uniform Civil Code (UCC). In introducing the Uniform Civil Code (in the country) we support you. But read the information before introducing the Uniform Civil Code. Make it a law. But before that tell Hindus what problems or issues they will have to face after that,” the Sena leader added.
“You talk about UCC, but you cannot ban cow slaughter across the country uniformly. Each state has a different law regarding the ban on cow slaughter. In Tripura, your leaders say we eat beef. In Goa and many other states it is not banned,” Uddhav pointed out.
