Hima Das clocked 23.79 second - 0.36 secs short of Asian Games qualification standard for the women's 200m sprint event set by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI).

Hima beat Aishwarya Kailash Mishra (24.81) of Maharashtra and VK Vismaya (24.82) of Kerala.

“I am pretty happy with the way I ran as it was my first race after the Commonwealth Games. I am happy with the timing,’’ said Hima after the race.

Meanwhile long-jumper Ancy Sojan from Kerala produced a series of leaps beyond 6 m and won the women's long jump gold medal with a best effort of 6.49m, just past the 6.45m mark laid down as the Asian Games qualifying standard.

While in the men's 800m race, Harayana's Krishna Kumar won with a time of 1:47.26, beating the Asian Games qualifying standard of 1:49.05.
