Sachin Pilot to leave Congress party and launch a new party of his own? Congress party general secretary (organisation) refutes rumour.
There have been speculations and reports from a couple of days that Sachin Pilot, former Chief Minister of Rajasthan is going to leave the Congress Party and launch a new party of his own on June 11, the day of his father, Rajesh Pilot's death anniversary.
However, Congress general secretary (organisation) K.C. Venugopal on Friday dismisses rumour reports.
On asking about the speculations, Congress general secretary (organisation) K C Venugopal said these are all rumours and that there is no such movement in Rajasthan.
He added that the party will fight unitedly and will also contest the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan together which is likely to be held by the end of this year.
K C Venugopal also said that he had a word with Sachin Pilot two-three times but there was no discussion about it. He also told the media to be optimistic and not believe in such rumours.
The 'rumours' came amidst ongoing differences between Sachin Pilot and Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot.
Pilot has been against the Gehlot government on the issue of corruption and demanded high level inquiry against those involved in the alleged scams during the Vasundhara Raje led government. Pilot further accuses the Gehlot government of not taking appropriate action against the corruption.
Recently, on June 5 night, the Congress general secretary in-charge of organisation, KC Venugopal had a lengthy telephonic conversation with Sachin Pilot in a hope to set aside the differences between Pilot and Gehlot.
However, that didn't work out i.e., the meeting ended without the party being able to announce a peace formula.
