Reliance Jio launches True 5G Services in Guwahati.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday launched the Jio True 5G service in Guwahati, Assam. Among the other benefits of the True 5G service, the healthcare sector was chosen for the demo.
Along with the launch of True 5G service, the Jio True 5G-Powered Wi-Fi service at Maa Kamakhya Temple complex was also launched.
Speaking at the launch, CM Sarma , “I am extremely happy to launch Jio’s true 5G services in Guwahati. I believe that a true 5G has the potential to make healthcare accessible to all across different geographical regions of Assam. Today’s demonstrated health solution i.e. ‘Clinic in a Bag’ can help grassroots health workers and ASHA workers. It has a simple design and can connect wirelessly to medical equipment over 5G. With the help of specialist doctors, health workers can treat patients even in the most remote areas of Assam."
"My government is fully committed to speedy rollout of 5G services in Assam. By implementing 5G-based healthcare solutions and creating a digital health eco-system in Assam, we can fulfill our Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission," the CM further said.
"Apart from its existing investment of Rs 9,500 crore in Assam, Jio is investing over Rs 2,500 crore to deploy a true 5G network in the state. By December 2023, Jio True 5G service will be made available in every town and taluka of Assam," Chief Minister Sarma added.
Jio users in Guwahati and 4 others states across the country will avail the Jio Welcome Offer, starting January 10 onwards.
The Jio Welcome Offer will offer the Reliance Jio users experience an unlimited data at up to 1Gbps+ speeds at no additional cost.
Speaking on the occasion, Jio Spokesperson said, “With the blessings of Maa Kamakhya, Jio is launching True 5G services in Assam today. Jio will offer free True 5G-powered Wi-Fi inside the temple premises to all the devotees visiting Kamakhya Temple. Today, we demonstrated how Jio True 5G technology will benefit the people of Assam and North-East in the field of advanced healthcare with its reliable wireless network."
