Go First plane takes off leaving behind over 50 passengers at the Bengaluru airport.

A Delhi-bound Go First plane on January 9 reportedly left the airport leaving over 50 passengers behind who were apparently waiting in a shuttle bus for boarding.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation issued a show cause notice to the airline for such a careless incident.

“... in the instant case, multiple mistakes such as lack of proper communication, co-ordination, reconciliation and confirmation have resulted in a highly avoidable situation,” the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) stated.

The regulator has issued the show cause notice to Accountable Manager/ Chief Operation Officer of Go First as to why enforcement action should not be taken against them for dereliction of their regulatory obligations.

“However, to follow the principles of natural justice, they have been given two weeks time to submit their reply to DGCA and based on that further action will be taken,” the statement further stated.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, several passengers claimed on social media that busloads of passengers from Bengaluru to Delhi were not allowed to board the Go First flight. The passengers claimed that the aircraft G8 116 left them behind when it took off on Monday at 6:40 a.m.

According to reports, the passengers had their boarding passes and their bags, all checked in.

In response to the tweets, Go First Airways, said: “We regret the inconvenience caused.”
