PAKKE: On a historic and landmark event the state government adopted the ‘Pakke Tiger Reserve 2047 Ministerial Declaration on Climate Change Resilient and Responsive Arunachal’ in its cabinet meeting held at the Pakke Tiger Reserve (PTR) here in Pakke-Kessang district on the 13th of November 2021 (Saturday). It was the first-ever cabinet meeting held outside the capital city wherein a landmark decision of adopting Kaiser-i-Hind was adopted as the state Butterfly.

The team SPACE had covered the entire event wherein it was reported that HCM Pema Khandu expressed his utmost support towards comprehensive and climate-resilient progress in the region. Khandu repeatedly mentioned Climate Change, where he stressed that the burgeoning climate crisis & change all over the globe is well known and the government along with the cooperation of people would ensure that the mitigation is dealt with accordingly.

Further HCM Khandu stated that his declaration propose to “Achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s COP26 five-point commitment to make India a net zero carbon emission nation by 2070"

Considering the Forest resources the state is endowed with, this declaration will surely help the country in meeting the demands as per the Paris Climate declaration,stated Khandu.

Khandu entitled the declaration “a historic and significant milestone in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in the 75th year of India’s independence celebrations in the state.”
