A Japanese man has transformed himself into a dog which costed him two million Yen (A$22,000).

The life-like dog costume has been made by a Japanese company, Zeppet, known for making costumes for TV commercials and films.

Reportedly, the company which is expert in creating figurines, body suits, 3-D models etc., took 40 days to complete the dog outfit.

“Modeled after a collie dog, it reproduces the appearance of a real dog walking on four legs,” said the company's spokesperson.

Video of the human dog, popularly known by all as TOCO was uploaded a video on the Japanese man's YouTube channel, ‘I want to be an animal'.

The channel has 36k subscribers and 37 videos of the dog.

The video which has got viral has over 2 million views and was shot one year ago but has been uploaded recently.

According to the description of the video, the video was shot as part of an interview by RTL, a German TV station.

“Hello, my name is Toco. I became a collie, fulfilling a dream I had since I was a little child to be an animal!” the dog introduces in the beginning of the video via subtitles.

In the video, the human dog, Toco is seen being taken out for a walk with a leash around the neck. He is seen playing around with other dogs in the park and even rolls on the floor just like any other dogs.

Earlier, the man gave interview to the Daily Mail and spoke about why he chose to become a human dog.

“I don’t want my hobbies to be known, especially by the people I work with,” said the man.

“They think it’s weird that I want to be a dog. For the same reason why I can’t show my real face,” added the man.

“I rarely tell my friends because I am afraid they will think I am weird,’ he said in a separate interview with the Mirror.

“My friends and family seemed very surprised to learn I became an animal,” he confessed.
