Nowadays people go crazy to make reels on social media, they go to extreme points in a hope to make a reel and eventually make it viral.

A similar incident has been reported from West Bengal where the reel didn't go viral but the steps taken to make a reel definitely have become the talk of the town.

Reportedly, a couple in West Bengal sold their eight-month-old baby boy to buy an iPhone 14 to create videos for Instagram reels.

The couple has been identified as Jaydev Ghosh and Sathi, who live in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.

Apparently the couple wanted to buy an expensive phone to make reels and decided to get Apple's latest iphone.

The incident came to light after the neighbours of the couple didn't see the baby for days and yet the parents didn't seem much bothered. Then the couple bought an iphone 14 which is quite expensive and given their financial background which was unstable in the past raised suspicion among the neighbours.

The couple is said to have a seven-year-old daughter whom they also were trying to sell off as well before selling off the baby but the plan didn’t really worked out their way.

The mother has been arrested and has admitted to their crime, however, the father is on run and further investigation is underway.

During the interrogation, the mother said the money they got by selling off their baby, they wanted to use it to take trips across West Bengal and create insta reels.

Meanwhile, the baby has been rescued from one Priyanka Ghosh, a resident of Khardah in the same district.
