RRR movie’s "Naatu Naatu" song bags the Best Original Song at Golden Globe Awards 2023.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, the Telugu language movie, RRR’s ‘Naatu Naatu’ won the Best Original song award at the Golden Globes 2023 and creates histroy in the Indian Cinema as it’s the first Indian movie to win a Golden Globe. It is also the first-ever Asian movie to win a Golden Globes award.
Composed by veteran music director M M Keeravaani, sung by Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj and lyrics by Chandrabose feat. the two popular South Indian heroes, Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr., the song is full of energy, it has that perfect essence of Tollywood dance music and the best part is easy peasy hook step which went viral over social media right after video release.

According to reports, the song was shot at the Mariinskyi Palace i.e., the Ukraine Presidential Palace in Kyiv, few months before the Russian invasion.
The song has been choreographed by Prem Rakshit and has been watched more than 111 million times on YouTube.
The Prime Minister as well as the whole Indian Cinema fraternity pours out hearfelt messages congratulating the team.
PM Modi congratulated the team through Twitter; calls it’s a very special accomplishment and that this prestigious honor has made every Indian very proud.

The song was released in four other Indian languages, in Hindi as ‘Naacho Naacho’, in Tamil as ‘Naatu Koothu’, in Kannada as ‘Halli Naatu’ and in Malayalam as ‘Karinthol’.
According to reports, the actors gave about 18 takes to the song and finally, the director of the movie, S S Rajamouli selected the second take as the final and the best one.
The song also made it to the 95th Academy Awards shorlisted for Best Original Song annouced by the Academy last month and it apparently is in competition with 14 other songs from worldwide.
Rihanna’s “Lift Me Up” from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which she co-wrote with Ryan Coogler, Ludwig Goransson and Tems, Taylor Swift’s for “Carolina” from Where the Crawdads Sing, Lady Gaga for co-writing “Hold My Hand” from Top Gun: Maverick with Bloodpop, Guillermo del Toro and Roeban Katz’s “Ciao Papa” from Pinocchio were among the other nominees for the Best Original Song at the Golden Globes 2023(accordimg to Billboard.com).
Arunachal Chief Minister Pema Khandu also congratulated the team, resharing the viral video of the award ceremony in his Twitter.

The movie RRR is based on a historical fantasy and centres around two real-life Indian revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju played by Ram Charan and Komaram Bheem played by N.T. Rama Rao Jr., a.k.a NTR. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan and Shriya Saran among many others.
