China once again provokes India: Includes Arunachal, Aksai Chin in new

China's government on Monday officially released the "2023 edition of the standard map of China” in which it continues to show the entire state of Arunachal Pradesh which china claims which China claims as South Tibet and Aksai Chin region, Taiwan and the disputed South China Sea.

As per news agency, ANI, the map also shows China's claims over the nine-dash line thus laying claim to a large part of the South China Sea. Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Brunei have all claims over the South China Sea areas.

This is not the first time, China has claimed parts of India as its own.

Previously on April, it released a notification renaming as many as 11 places of Arunachal Pradesh which included names of mountain peaks, rivers and residential areas, claiming it as within China's territory.

Following the renaming of the place, the Indian government said that the state of Arunachal Pradesh has "always been" and will "always be" an integral part of the country.

In an interview with NDTV, the External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Tuesday dismissed Beijing's "absurd claims" and said "putting out a map does not mean anything."

He said it is China's old habit of claiming other territories as their own.

In an exclusive interview with the television channel, the external affairs minister said, "China has put out maps with territories (that are) not theirs. (It is an) old habit. Just by putting out maps with parts of India... this doesn't change in anything."

"Our government is very clear about what our territories are. Making absurd claims does not make other people's territories yours," Jaishankar told NDTV.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is expected to attend the September 9-10 summit in New Delhi.
