Shaktimaan aka Mukesh Khanna slams Adipurush, says the whole team should be burnt alive at 50 degrees.
Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer film, Adipurush has been receiving criticism back to back since its release.
Popular character Shaktimaan played by Mukesh Khanna, who had earlier objected to the casting of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh or Ravana, has now claimed that the entire team of Adipurush should be ‘burnt alive’.
Khanna had slammed the makers of Adipurush claiming the makers had insulted and made a joke out of the epic, Ramayan.
In one of his YouTube videos, the Shaktiman actor had condemned the dialogues and costumes used in the film.
After bursting out his anger towards the film in his YouTube channel, the actor spoke to news agency ANI about the same.
He said, "Who has given the right to anyone to insult our scriptures? I have even said that both of them (Om Raut and Manoj Muntashir) have not even read Ramayana. Those who don’t know which blessing Ravana has received. They pasted the blessing of Hiranya Kashyap of Ravana.”
Khanna further said, "While Shiv ji had blessed Ravan, now those who do not have that much knowledge, then you are talking about big things. It is absolutely rubbish. They should not be forgiven. Yesterday, I said on my channel that this whole team should be burnt standing at fifty degrees Celsius."
While answering the question, "who should be blamed?", the actor criticised director Om Raut and writer Manoj Muntashir.
He said, he expected them to hide their faces after all the criticism they received back to back.
However, Mukesh said, "they are coming forward and explaining this much. They are saying that we are making it for Sanatan Dharma. Hey, is your Sanatan Dharma different from ours? They said that there was the version of Valmiki ji, then there was the version of Tulsidas ji, this is our version. Are you above Valmiki ji that you will create your own version and tell the children to forget the old tradition?"
Earlier, Hindu Sena filed a writ petition against the film in Delhi High Court demanding the film not be certified for public exhibition.
In the petition, they demanded the removal of objectionable scenes depicting religious leaders/characters/figures in an inappropriate manner, thereby hurting the sentiments of the Hindu community.
Apart from Kriti Sanon and Prabhas, the movie will have a stellar supporting cast, consisting of Saif Ali Khan (who essays the role of the demonic king Ravana), Sunny Singh, Vatsal Sheth, Sonal Chauhan, etc.
Directed by Om Raut, the movie is made on a budget of Rs 500 crore and is one of the most expensive films made till date.
The film has been screened in five Indian languages, namely, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and has hit the theatres on June 16.
Despite the criticism, the movie’s worldwide five day box office gross is ?395 crore as of Wednesday, June 21.
