The Sharukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer Pathaan after the never ending controversies ever since its music teaser has finally released on January 25. At the very opening day of the movie, the film’s Hindi version earned a whopping amount of Rs 50-55 crore nett at the domestic box office.

Inispite of being a non-holiday, midweek release, it creates history and is now the biggest opener (Hindi films) in India.

According to reports, the movie’s first day box office figures are among the top openers of all time in India- 2019’s War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff had collected Rs 50 crore nett, 2022’s KGF Hindi version collected Rs 52 crore nett.

The opening day didn’t just smash the box office at the domestic level but globally as well. Pathaan, reportedly collected Rs 106 crore worldwide on the very first day of its release at the Box Office. It’s also reportedly number one debut in the UAE and Singapore and crossed 1 million dollar in the USA by Wednesday afternoon.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “ ‘PATHAAN’: ? 106 CR GROSS ON DAY 1 WORLDWIDE… #Pathaan demolishes #Worldwide opening day records for #Hindi films… #India + #Overseas Gross BOC on Day 1 is ? 106 cr. PHENOMENAL.”

While Indian Box Office wrote, “#Pathaan is heading for $15-20 M Overseas weekend. Will cross Lifetime of all other Bollywood films post pandemic within weekend. First Overseas BLOCKBUSTER for bollywood after Sanju (2018).”

Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie Pathaan is a great comeback for Shah Rukh Khan to movies after a gap of over four years. His last movie was 2018’s Zero.

According to reports, the movie broke records in advance booking as well. It recorded the second-highest pre-release ticket sales for Day 1- 5.5 lakh. Earlier, only KGF 2’s Hindi dub sold more in advance bookings.

The plot of the movie, Pathaan is similar to old spy action movie. There’s no newness in the story. Hence, audience’s review in terms of the film’s story is very poor.

Pathaan is a spy action movie which depicts the story of an exiled RAW agent played by Shah Rukh Khan who is assigned to take down a private terrorist group, preparing for a nuclear attack on India. While Deepika Padukone plays an ISI spy and John Abraham plays a former RAW agent who is plotting the nuclear attack .

According to the reviews, most of the people are watching because of “SRK” and due to the controversies the movie faced in the past few months post the trailer and release of the song, Besharam Rang. One of the best parts of the movie is the cameo by Salman Khan that has been loved most by the audiences.
