Ramanand Sagar's popular Indian TV show ‘Ramayan’ to soon return to TV.
Popular India TV show Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan, an adaptation of the epic, Ramayan is going to make a comeback from next week onwards amidst Adipurush controversy.
Shemaroo TV took to its official media handle and announced that the popular TV show which was first aired in 1987 and which forever etched in the hearts of the audiences is soon going to return to the small screens on July 3 and will be aired at 7:30 pm on the Shemaroo TV channel.
Shemaroo TV uploaded a promo of the serial in Twitter and wrote in the caption, "We are bringing to you all dear viewers the world-famous mythological serial "Ramayan"... Watch "Ramayan" from 3rd July at 7:30 PM only on your favorite channel #ShemarooTV."
The comment section is flooded love from the netizens, while someone commented "Best serial of all time", a different person said, "Can't believe it's returning on TV again, excited to watch."
Few viewers, on the other hand, requested for re-run of other old tv shows.
The announcement comes amidst the ongoing controversy since the release of the movie, Adipurush starring Prabhas and Kriti Sanon.
Not just the audience even veteran actor like Mukesh Khanna, the Ramayan tv show actor Arun Govil and many others have criticized the film like the dialogues, costumes etc.
Following the backlash, the dialogues were changed and then the new ones were screened in the theatres.
Prem Sagar, son of Ramanand Sagar, also questioned the dialogues of the film, and questioned the film's co-writer Manoj Muntashir.
In an interview with news agency ANI, Sagar said "Manoj Muntashir is well-versed in Hinduism. I fail to understand how he conceived such dialogues for the film. Perhaps it was a miscalculation that the younger generation would appreciate it. However, one cannot disregard the sentiments of the audience. If it is based on Valmiki Ramayan, it should not hurt people's emotions. People watch this show with devotion. Instead of claiming it to be a retelling of Valmiki Ramayan, it would be better to present it as a fantasy film under a different name."
