Rajasthan Minister Ashok Chandna congratulates 'passengers' who were on Chandrayaan-3 mission.
Rajasthan Sports Minister Ashok Chandna on Wednesday while congratulating the success of Chandrayaan-3, congratulated 'passengers' that apparently went on to the Chandrayaan 3 mission.
'I congratulate the passengers who have gone there. India has taken a step ahead in science and space research with this (Chandrayaan 3) mission,' he said while speaking to reporters.
Following the video which was all over the internet, netizens slammed the minister for his carelessness and having zero knowledge on such a huge event. Some also made jokes and memes about it accordingly.
While on the other hand, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee confuses Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma with veteran Indian actor Rakesh Roshan.
Hourse before the landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the surface of the moon, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while speaking in an event, recalled the first time an Indian landed on the moon and narrated the story when the then PM Indira Gandhi had asked the astronaut how did India looked from above.
However, while narrating the story, the CM took the name of veteran actor Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik Roshan's father instead of the first Indian to land on the moon, Rakesh Sharma.
'When Rakesh Roshan went to the moon, Indira Gandhi had asked him how India looked from up there,' she said.
Rakesh Sharma was the first Indian to travel to space in 1984. His answer - 'saare jahan se acha, Hindustan humara' to then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's question became hugely popular.
Soon the video went viral on social media, followed with a number of memes.
Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the surface of the south pole of the moon on Wednesday, August 23 at around 6:02 pm, making it the fourth country to land on the moon surface and the first to land on the South pole of the moon.
