No OTT buyer for The Kerala Story, Director Sudipto Sen says "Industry ganged up to punish us."
The Kerala Story which has been in controversy since its release in May has now come up with another scenario.
The movie although controversial has gained a lot of popularity as well which turned out to be a success for the movie and the people associated with it. It earned over Rs 200 crore at the box office.
However, the director, Sudipto Sen is having a hard time finding OTT buyers for the film.
Reportedly, the director has not found any suitable offer or worth considering from any of the main OTT platforms.
The director then went on to say that the film industry has ganged up to punish them.
The director in an interview said, "Our box office success has irked many sections of the film industry. We have a feeling that a section of the entertainment industry has united to punish us for our success."
There are also reports that since the story of the film has triggered certain sections of the audience, hence this can be a major factor for the lack of buyers for OTT platforms as they want to avoid getting into anything politically controversial.
The Kerala Story was released in theatres on May 5, 2023 starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani.
