Nagaland’s Andrea Kevichusa won ‘Best Debut Female’ at the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023.
Nagaland's Andrea Kevichüsa bags the ‘Best Debut Female’ award for Anek at the 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 held at the Jio World Centre, Mumbai, Maharashtra on Thursday.
Taking to her instagram, Kevichusa wrote, “BEYOND grateful!!” while thanking all who were involved in the film Anek. “I am indebted to everyone for all the support I have received in this journey,” she added.
Other actors who were nominated for the award apart from Andrea Kevichüsa were, Khushali Kumar for Dhokha: Round D Corner, Manushi Chhillar for Samrat Prithviraj and Prajakta Koli for Jugjugg Jeeyo.
Andrea Kevichusa is a model turned actor from Nagaland. She made her acting debut in the Ayushmann Khurrana starrer 2022 movie Anek and has also worked as a model for brands like Sabyasachi, KayBeauty by Katrina Kaif and appeared in many magazines such Grazia, Vogue India etc.
Anek, a film by Anubhav Sinha is set up in Northeast India is a story which revolves around an undercover spy agent Joshua played by Ayushmann Khurrana who is sent to the Northeast to bring a peace deal between the government and a insurgent group in the North East. While the female protagonist, Aido, a boxer by profession is played by Andrea Kevichusa.
While in the male category, Ankush Gedam won the 'Best Debut Male' for Jhund.
Another one from Northeast India who won an award in the 68th Filmfare Awards 2023 is Assam’s Suman Adhikary who bagged two Filmfare Awards, one for the Best Story and another for the Best Screenplay for the Hindi film ‘Badhaai Do’.

The 68th Hyundai Filmfare Awards 2023 with Maharashtra Tourism was hosted for the first time by Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan, alongside co-hosts Ayushmann Khurrana and Maniesh Paul.
While other Bollywood celebrities such as Vicky Kaushal, Govinda, Tiger Shroff, Janhvi Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez lit up the ceremony with their powerful performance.
