Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Thursday apologised to the victim of the urinating case of Madhya Pradesh.

The CM has not only apologised but also washed the feet of the victim when he came to meet CM at his residence in Bhopal on Thursday morning.

Taking to his Twitter, the CM wrote, "The mind is sad; Dashmat ji, this is an attempt to share your pain, I also apologize to you, for me public is God."

"I am sharing this video with you so that everyone should understand that Shivraj Singh Chouhan is in Madhya Pradesh, so the public is God. Atrocities with anyone will not be tolerated. The respect of every citizen of the state is my respect,” he added.

Background

A video of a man who has been identified as Pravesh Shukla from Madhya Pradesh was seen urinating on a labourer/tribal Dashmat Rawat.

Following which there was a nationwide outrage over the inhumane incident that took place in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district.

The Police immediately booked Shukla under the National Securities Act.

The Police had also filed an FIR against the accused under SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act.

He was then arrested at around 2.30am on Wednesday from the outskirts of his native village Kubri.

Besides filing a case against the Shukla, one third of his house which was built illegally was also demolished by the district administration.

The opposition party, Congress and netizens have alleged that the culprit is an associate of a sitting BJP MLA.

However, the BJP had denied the allegations.
