ITANAGAR: Lately, The SPACE Media had a telephonic conversation with the first female Everester of the state Mrs.Tine Mena, wherein she expressed her forlornness and continuous dejection from the delayed and abandoned promises that the government has bestowed upon her since long enough.

Why in News?

The state cabinet in the month of June 2021, approved the creation of two posts of adventure promotion instructors in the youth affairs department as a special case. The posts were created in recognition of the pioneering efforts and contributions of Tapi Mra, the first Everester from the state, and Tine Mena, the first woman Everester from the state and the entire Northeast.

But the promises seem to be distant away from being a reality.

The Everester had a telephonic conversation with the SPACE Media with regards to the Job appointment as stated hitherto by the government.

Mena expressed her despondence over the promises for a job, time and again by the government. 

On interviewed by the SPACE Media Mena kept her word straightforward  and stated, "I was given such Promises time and again and now I am bored, I have a family to feed, I can't keep on waiting for the Government, I think I would better do the fieldwork and live"

The everester mentioned that she had tried to inquire about the whereabouts of the file but then she got the same old response viz "it is under process and she ought to wait until October end"

Mena told the SPACE Media that she has been filled and engrained with promises since the time when Shri Nabam Tuki was the Chief Minister of the state, however in the month of June this year, her prolonged dreams and hopes seemed to have been fulfilled but alas, with the passing of three months without any trails of updates from the department her hopes remain agitated and weakened.

While on the telephonic conversation Mena was asked when was the last time she had contacted the department, time where she told SPACE Media, that it has just been two days since she had contacted the concerned department. She was told to wait till the end of October.

She plainly stated, "Abhi kheti karke khana parega aur kia karega".

what's the Update from the Government?

The Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Shri Mama Natung confirmed that she shall be appointed as decided by the Cabinet, However, it might take time for the government to bring in such a step since it includes lots of measures and steps to be taken.
