GAMMA Asian Championship Ends : North-Eastern fighters Bagged Medals

?STATE: Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA), Asian Championship was held in the resort town of Cholpon-Ata on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan from 24 to 28 August, wherein few North Eastern fighters managed to clinched the medals for the country.

Jowkhum Dilli of Bordumsa in Changlang district who scripted history by becoming the first-ever Arunachalee to qualify for GAMM), Asian Championship,  has bagged Bronze.

Jowkhum Dilli put up a tough resistance against his opponent and managed to clinch a bronze medal for the country in the 52.2 kg weight category after getting short in the semis. Other fellow contestants from the northeast also succeeded in getting medals.

The three Nagaland MMA fighters Kekhrieneitso Angami won the silver along with Longtsukumba Ao who also won silver medals in the lightweight and welterweight divisions respectively, Arsenba Ozukum won bronze in the flyweight category.
Angami faced a defeat to Nurtaza lumakhanova of Kazhalchstan in the final match, while Ao lost to Yazan Jaber of Palestine in a close match. On the other hand, Ozukum was defeated in his semi-final match to Dinesh Naorem, also from India. With 22 medals including four gold, seven silver, and 11 bronze, India stood in the third position of the medal tally at the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship.

While with 36 medals Kazakhstan topped the medal tally at the GAMMA Asian MMA Championship, followed by Kyrgyzstan with 22 medals, Palestine with three medals, and Pakistan – three medals.
