A conman from Gujarat impersonates a PMO official in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.

The conman identified as Kiran Bhai Patel was impersonating an Additional Director for strategy and campaigns in the Prime Minister's Office.

According to reports, Patel was enjoying it like any other officer's life. He was given Z-plus security cover, a bulletproof Mahindra Scorpio SUV, official accommodation at a five-star hotel and a whole lot more during his stay earlier this year in Srinagar.

Patel even held a series of meetings with the officials during his visit but it all came to an end a few days back when the police arrested him.

However, his arrest was kept secret until Thursday, when details of his arrest emerged after an IAS officer who is a district magistrate informed the police about his visit, a "senior PMO officer" last month.

The intelligence agencies informed the police about a conman impersonating a PMO official. After which, the police verified his background and later, arrested him from a hotel in Srinagar.

Reportedly, it is still not clear whether an FIR was registered against him on the same day of his arrest or whether there was some sort of delay in doing so.

Patel is a verified user on Twitter and has over a thousand followers, including BJP Gujarat General Secretary Pradipsinh Vaghela.

 He has also shared several videos and pictures of his 'official visits' in Kashmir where one can see he is surrounded by paramilitary guards.

According to his Twitter bio, he is a PhD from Commonwealth University, Virginia, an MBA from IIM Trichy, as well as an M.Tech in Computer Science and B.E. in Computer Engineering.

Pictures of his wife and his child with PM Modi, picture of Patel himself and Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs are also circulating on social media, netizens, opposition parties question his true identity and claims some sort of connections with the PM.
