NATION: Manipur witnessed another gruesome incident wherein, the commanding officer of 46 Assam Rifles,  along with his family members, and four jawans faced a  heavy attack by militants in Churachandpur district leading to their tragic demise today on the 13th of November.

According to the sources, the incident occurred at around 10 am near S Sehken village under Behiang police station, which is located close to the India-Myanmar border. Commanding Officer namely  Viplav Tripathi along with his wife and 8-year-old son was ambushed while on their way back to the base from the Behiang company post.

Hitherto no group has officially claimed responsibility for the attack, however, the hullabaloo of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of Manipur is being heard in a few nooks and corners as the militant fraction that might have been involved in the ambush.

Behiang village is situated near the India-Myanmar border, about 122 km from Imphal. The state Manipur has been considering ideas to develop the place as the second trade corridor to South-East Asian countries after Moreh town due to its strategic importance.
