Assam Government introduces E textbooks for classes pre-primary to 12.
The Assam Government on Wednesday inaugurated E-Textbooks from Pre-Primary to XII at Samgra Siksha, Assam, Guwahati.
The online system for downloading textbooks in PDF files from three websites was inaugurated by Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu in a move to make textbooks easily accessible for the students.
These 475 titles of digital textbooks are reportedly published in 8 medium and 19 languages which will be available in downloadable format in the portals of SCERT, SEBA and AHSEC.
The government to avail the students with the digital apps, has uploaded around 54,000 profiles including 45,000 government schools and 10,000 central government and private schools on the Shiksha Setu app.
The government has also announced that it will provide tablets to teachers for teaching through the Shiksha Setu App. This will ensure that students can have a more interactive learning experience, and teachers can provide quality education using digital resources.
The Education Minister further commented on the results of Gunotsav, stating that textbooks have been translated into 19 languages and distributed to 46,69,501 students across the state. He added that 1,90,26,501 books have been distributed to students in the state, highlighting the government's efforts towards promoting education.
Furthermore, the Education Minister emphasized that the teacher transfer portal is transparent, and everything will be seen when teachers apply for transfer after completing ten years of service. He also mentioned that specially-abled teachers can apply for transfer after completing two years of service.
The Education Minister further took to this Twitter and wrote, "This will help our students, teachers and guardians in accessing the textbooks anytime and anywhere."
